I’m Jessica. A freelance marketing professional, wife, and mama to a beautiful and strong-willed 2 year-old son named Enzo. I’m not a doctor, a nutritionist, or even a health coach. I’m just a real person, who fights with my willpower every single time I drive by a Starbucks or walk by the bakery section in the grocery store. Who struggles to keep processed foods out of my home and can’t seem to get into a consistent exercise routine no matter how hard I try.
Every day seems like a juggling act to work my business, keep my house clean, shop for and prepare healthy food, take care of my son (if we’re honest, that’s way more than a full time job in itself), spend time with my family and friends, much less make time to exercise and do some kind of self-care. The struggle is real. The world we live in offers unhealthy (translation - downright deadly) options around every corner, every commercial on TV, grocery store trip and even drive down the road is a temptation.
It shouldn’t be this way! That’s why I started this blog, to offer simple ideas and inspiration to help real people make small shifts in their everyday health routine. The goal is not perfection, but small changes that are actually doable. These simple shifts add up to living a life that you're proud of and feeling good about your everyday choices.
Our bodies are all different, yet so much the same. Regardless of gender, age or culture, we are all part of the human race and the basic principles of health and nutrition are universal. Let's get real - we don't have time to spend our days gardening, shopping for local, organic produce, preparing elaborate meals and spending hours in the gym - that's not real life for most of us. But that doesn't mean you can't live a happy, healthy, guilt-free life!
Health is journey, not a destination. There are ups and downs along the way but the good news is, we’re all on this journey together! All you have to do is take the first step.
